A CHARGE TO KEEP- By Walter Mailhot

Remember the day America shook
And time came to a stop
Calm waters still run deep
We hold our loved ones as they weep
Now the giant doesn't sleep
We've got a charge to keep

Black, brown, white, red it matters not
We're all in the same 'ol melting pot
We'll forge a will of iron while the fires hot
In the hearts of everyone

No pedigrees
No thouroughbreds
No race supreme
We're simply living the American dream
Where man and woman can walk hand in hand
In God we trust is echoing all across our land

Chorus

A country born
By dawns early light
We feed the world with amber waves of grain
From Oceans to praries to mountains high
Young and old sing the refrain
As America joins in unity
Standing tall for the world to see
Let us heal body and mind
Not a single child will be left behind

Chorus

(We've got a charge)
Every single one of us
From dirt to dirt and dust to dust
So we should'nt hesitate
Time is soon we'll celebrate
I think it's a Holy call
All for one and one for all
If you seek you will find
not a single child left behind

We've got a charge
A charge to keep
